Barry Halpern sent in these pictures.

The scant documentation I have from the Thorens history pamphlet indicates this unit to be a mechanical player from the 1920's. The style of cabinetry suggests either a Model No. 229, 229P, 230 or model No. 230P.  The difference having to do with the style and size of the diaphragm. Cabinetry is described in the ad brochure as being polished mahogany.  Photos show it to be solid mahogany throughout.

Photo #3 displays the bottom plate of the spring motor.  The rod to the right would be the axle from the wind-up crank.
