Almost identical to the TD160, the TD145 adds the complication of an automatic arm lift and shut-off feature. Compare the above photo to a TD160 from the same era below

To start the platter spinning on the TD145 you have to turn and hold the start/stop knob. Also the arm will not drop until the platter is spinning.
Above photo: note presence of safety post just above the belt pulley. Also note the safety catch to the right of the spindle bearing. This will keep the inner platter/spindle from dropping out when the table is inverted. This mechanism is held in place by a single sheet metal screw. The screw must be removed before the inner platter can be extracted from the bearing.
